  Today was my last day as a tenant at Hampshire Landing. My family and I were tenants for two years, between 2015 and 2017. I wanted to make sure and leave an honest review of my experience for others. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with leasing at this complex. The apartments are very nice and the location is right in the middle of Joplin, within a quick drive to the major retail district. Also, Sunshine Lamp Trolley, has a stop right at the complex which is great for anyone wanting to use Joplin's public transit system. When we were in the beginning stages of applying, there was an issue with the former manager of the complex and so they were in transition of hiring a new manager. Because of those circumstances, we went from processing with the then manager to processing with the regional manager, Lisa Berman, and interim manager, Jennifer Lopez. With that being said, I feel that from the top down that Miller-Valentine (the property owners), were well-prepared and the application process went very smoothly despite being in transition with their management. We were also very pleased with who they chose to hire as the full-time manager, Misty Huddleston. Misty was an absolute delight to work with. I particularly liked how she was kind, fair and personable, but when it came down to doing her job, she was very professional didn't let any disruptions to the community to persist. As with any community-style living there are always going to be tenants who try to push the envelope to see what they can get away with and I felt like Misty was always able to tactfully deal with situations that arose, however I have to say that as a whole the complex is very quite and with very little disruptions or problems, which I credit to the superior management. With regards to maintenance, we had very few issues that needed maintenance, but in the few instances they were very quick to address the problems. I wish I could recall the name of the gentleman who was the head of maintenance, but he was always very friendly and professional in passing. All-in-all, I would not hesitate to refer anyone to this complex, especially if corporate down continues to work in the same effective manner that it had while I was a tenant. Kudos to Miller-Valentine for a well-run business and the clarity to select capable management.
